• Khuda Bakhsh Annual Lecture was delivered by Dr. Ron Sela, Associate Professor, Central Asian History, Indiana University, USA on the theme "Timur's Legendary Biographies: Central Asian Hindustani Connection". Prof. Surendra Gopal, former Head, Dept. of History, Patna University presided.

• An International Congress on Bengal Art was jointly organized by the Library and International Centre for Study of Bengal Art Dhaka. H.E. Devanand Konwar, Governor of Bihar and Chairman, Khuda Bakhsh Library Board inaugurated the Congress. Prof. O. P. Jaiswal, Former Professor, Ancient History and Archaeology, Patna University  presided over the inaugural.
